MORE THAN JUST AN ACADEMIC INSTITUTION.

Joining the Technical university of Mombasa was for further studies after highschool to fulfil and get skills on my dream job. As it is thought as an institution of learning I had heard of stories concerning campus life, it was now my time to experience it on its full.

I had stayed in Mombasa for around two years and so learning in this university near the ocean was not a big deal. I even did my own admission since I was already familiar with the area. I had no excitement of going to the beach or to other recreational places for it was not new for me , so i only thought of learning and going back home at the end of the day . I have been living in Likoni the whole while in school it has been an adventure of travelling by ferry each and every day to be in class. Sometimes I got tired but I have done my best .

I call it more than a learning institution for it has taught me alot away from class I have come into contact with people from different parts of this country with different cultures, perspectives, visions, religion, behaviors and it has made me to know how to interact with them. Being in class has been a nice experience to get to learn new things as you enjoy time with others. Campus life has taught me to exchange ideas with many , to work effectively in groups, to handle emotions, to achieve my goals even in the midst of troubles.
" Wow it is more than I can explain".
Though being a nice place it was at some point not a bed of roses to me I got into difficult situations,,being a Christian I felt too religious to others , it was hard for me to make friends at first and so I could interact with anyone as long as is my classmate but all in all I got to understand things and got friends . Sometimes it has been hard to survive as a comrade just to make sure the day comes to an end.
I then just learned that most students or most people might be smiling and having fun but deep down they are facing much in life...

As " classmates" that has been our relationship but many students faced issues which needed much help more than just financial help, no one is able to know how someone lives and how things go on there way I have learned to appreciate each person's effort and pray for those in need or help them where I can, as I get done with my studies away from just the certificate I hope to have impacted one person's life in one way or another.
My gratitude goes to all my classmates, not to forget my lecturers who have taken me all through the course, my friends and those that I have been able to interact with and I believe as we leave school to go out there the grace of God will go before all DMAC CLASS that we may succeed in all our endavours . IT IS MY PRAYER.

Campus life is an adventure and an important experience you get skills but also learn life...
